Fallout: New Vegas, It's the ray gun not the M16

It is no secret that one of my most anticipated games this years is Fallout: New Vegas, the follow up to Fallout 3. The new entry in the series takes place in the Mojave desert 200 years after a mythical world war 3 takes place between the USA and China. Set in the classic 50's era complete with the whole Rat Pack feel the new game promises to bring that same old Fallout feel to new heights.

Unlike Fallout 3 where the player begins life at birth in New Vegas you being the game by getting shot in the head and dumped into a shallow grave. Upon waking up you assume a new player made identity and set out into the world to find out why this has happened to you. In your travels you will visit the iconic city of Las Vegas, re-imagined into the Fallout universe as well as other iconic locations such as the Hoover Damn.

Bethesda promises a few improvements over the last edition in the series, Energy weapons that recharge themselves, weighted ammo required the player to make more drastic decisions about what they take with them out into the world. There is also a machine gun that shoots grenades!

Here are the first three developer diaries from Bethesda going over some of the juicier tidbits. The E3 trailor was included because I absolutely love the song♥
