Watching E3 unfold this year through news articles, live blogging events and video streams I could not help but think I was a witness to a really epic moment. Nintendo, the company who for the last few years has been the king of the casuals, suddenly unveiled a metric ton of games aimed squarely at the hardcore crowd. A new Kid Icarus, Metriod, Zelda and a new hand held embracing the 3d craze. While on the other sides of the show you have Microsoft and Sony both unveiling their flagship casual products.
Yeah. What happens in bizzaro world stays in bizzaro world I guess. Either way I am a happy camper, I get new hardcore titles to play on the Wii and my Wife might actually let me get a 360 or ps3 now that she has some of the more casual titles to play with.
Dont get me wrong, I found the 360 and PS3 casual products very fascinating and would love to give them a try. It is just hilarious that after all the guff and hate Nintendo has taken over the last few years for "being casual" they came out of E3 looking like the hardcore champion while rivals MS and Sony finally jumped on the casual bandwagon.
At least none of them put out an application to let you play Farmville on a console!
